By accessing or using the What the F? Personal Inventory application and website ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

What the F? Personal Inventory provides a digital inventory management platform that allows users to:

  • Photograph and catalog personal belongings
  • Use AI-powered item identification
  • Scan and store receipts
  • Organize items by location
  • Access inventory across multiple devices

Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Maintain the security of your password
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

Subscription Plans and Payments

Free Tier

The free tier provides limited access to the Service with restrictions on the number of items, locations, and AI scans per month.

Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscription plans are billed on a monthly or annual basis. By subscribing, you agree to:

  • Pay all fees associated with your chosen plan
  • Automatic renewal unless you cancel before the renewal date
  • Potential price changes with 30 days advance notice

Refund Policy

We offer refunds within 7 days of initial purchase. After 7 days, all payments are non-refundable. Monthly subscriptions can be canceled at any time but will remain active until the end of the billing period.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the app or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

User Content and Ownership

Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the photos, descriptions, and data you upload to the Service ("Your Content"). By uploading Your Content, you grant us a limited license to:

  • Store and display Your Content to you
  • Process Your Content through AI services for item identification
  • Back up Your Content for service reliability

Prohibited Content

You agree not to upload content that:

  • Violates any law or regulation
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains malware or harmful code
  • Is obscene, offensive, or inappropriate

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Reverse engineer or decompile the application
  • Use automated systems to access the Service
  • Resell or redistribute the Service
  • Upload excessive amounts of data to abuse the Service
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users

AI-Generated Content

Our Service uses AI to identify items from photos. Please note:

  • AI identifications may not always be accurate
  • You should verify AI-generated information
  • We are not liable for inaccurate AI identifications
  • AI processing is performed by OpenAI, subject to their terms

Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee:

  • 100% uptime or uninterrupted access
  • Error-free operation
  • Compatibility with all devices

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with or without notice.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the past 12 months
  • We are not responsible for loss of data, though we maintain backups

Data Backup and Loss

While we implement backup procedures, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important data. We recommend periodically exporting your inventory data.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you:

  • Breach these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Violate applicable laws
  • Abuse the Service or other users

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may request a data export within 30 days of termination.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and content (excluding Your Content), is owned by What the F? Personal Inventory and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including:

  • OpenAI for AI item identification
  • Cloudinary for image storage
  • Stripe for payment processing

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless What the F? Personal Inventory from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or violation of these Terms.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
